Some History… 

Close the hundredth anniversary of the birth of María Luisa Anido, the Great Lady of the Guitar, some of her students, friends, and admirers decided to found an association as a tribute to her personality and as means to preserve her work. 

We feel this is a way to honor, spread her legacy, and keep the memory of María Luisa Anido, who did so much for classical guitar in Argentina and    made it soar to unprecedented levels throughout the world. 

As a performer she was unique. Her performance reflected her luminous personality. As a composer he was deeply involved with popular rhythms and melodies permeating Argentine academic music.  She was also a devoted teacher whose examples were to be landmarks for future guitarists.
